Fulano

(Formally The Pedestrian, 2019)

Fulano is a photographic exploration of the unnoticed happenings of public life. The work attends to the fleeting gestures, situations, and dynamics that animate the everyday.

In capturing these unplanned moments, Fulano transforms the act of walking into a form of visual reflection. It reveals not only the quiet theatre of the street but also the subtle choreography of human experience.

The name of this project is a homage to my grandmother, Rebeca Treviño, who would regularly use the word to describe characters in her stories.

In Spanish, “fulano” is a generic name used to refer to someone whose real name you either don’t know, don’t want to mention, or don’t think is important.
